What I do really well:
I focus my practice around building strong relationships with my clients and plan participants. I listen carefully to the life story and goals of each person as I find it important to take a holistic approach to planning. I then design a specific retirement plan and investment strategy that satisfies the tolerance for investment risk and goals that were discussed. I also focus on education to help people understand their plan which tends to bring not only confidence, but also the desire to play an active role in their financial future.
Why I get up in the morning:
It is not hard for me to get up in the morning because I love the career I have chosen. Each day gives me an opportunity to help a client or plan participant to have a confident retirement. For me, I enjoy the analytical side of retirement readiness, as well as, the relationship building aspect. Having the ability to make a difference in peoples’ lives is why I do what I do. They say people tend to spend more time planning their annual vacations than planning for their retirement. My goal is to help communicate the importance of planning for retirement.
How I got here:
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where I studied Business Communications. In 1998, I joined RBC Dain Rauscher where I spent 9 years learning about many aspects of the financial industry. I received my Series 7 and 66 registration, as well as my Insurance license during my time at RBC. I then joined Wells Fargo Advisors in Denver before joining Moreton Retirement Partners in 2011. I am now an independent Registered Representative with LPL Financial. I completed my Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation (CRPC) in 2011 and completed the first section of the Retirement Income Certified Professional designation (RICP) as I continue to specialize in guiding people towards their retirement goals.
Who am I really:
I grew up in the rural area of Duluth, MN where I learned to enjoy the beauty of nature and close family. I moved to Denver in 2005 to explore a new city and the beautiful Colorado Rockies. I am a very active person who has completed 5 marathons; most of them run beside my Dad. I enjoy hiking, running, snowboarding, mountain biking and just being outside. I have a little girl named Piper Rose and she is my little miracle.
